Finally the poem came. Not quite where I thougt it might go, but perhaps where it needed to be today. Happy Summer Solstice friends!

One

One world, one peace,

One Love.

That we all may be one.

God, spirit, divine mystical force

encapsulated in the One.

A dream of the One,

that embodies the All.

A One that gets bigger and wider

as each of us experience

our uncommon particularity

embedded in

our common ground,

our common life,

our common One.

A universe of discovery

and mystery

awaits as we dig deeper

into fertile soil that holds

our hearts, our spirits, our beings.

One for all, all for one.

A beautiful world shining

because of our differences,

not in spite of them.

One day,

we shall see the rainbow

as sacred gift to enable

us to find our center

in the ecstatic song

that blends All into One.

Happy solstice! I had thought I'd end up going a different direction for today lol but here we are (I feel like I should add this is not based on a personal relationship experience😅):

One drop in the bucket

One tap on the brakes

So many moments

So many mistakes

.

One after another

One gives and one takes

So many betrayals

So many heartbreaks

.

One lifetime of waiting

One measures the stakes

A breath, before leaving

A bright new day breaks

.

One season of grieving

One light reawakes

One beat of a heart

One new life undertakes

One light.

Thanks.

This is beautiful A. It is a wonderful song, and would love to hear it put to music. Your lyrical sense and exceptional ability to create such flow and cadence in your poems shines through here. I love your poetry, each piece is a wonder. Thank you for sharing the past several weeks.

Thank you Larry! Your encouragement every day is one of the things I'll miss the most about this experience.

I will miss you dearly A.! I also meant to say that my poems sometimes are enot autobiographical, though the piecces may start there, but wind through a placee that sometimes is not the life I have lived--at least yet! I hope that makes sense.

Absolutely! Sometimes it's nice to step outside of your own experience that way.

Beautiful A. Funny how the writing can start out one way and then go another way all together. I had the same experience today. This one is lovely. Loss, sorrow, pain, these emotions and experiences are all part of life. That which makes up the "one light reawakes"

Well done Julie I want to steal that exclamation point and nail it to the door of the poem a day retreat as it slowly shuts today.

This is so wonderful, Julie! Your visual arrangement enhances the beautiful flow of the words. As I read, I think of the U2 song, "One", at least the version done by Jarvis Church and the hip hop artist/rapper K'Naan. I really enjoy your lovely poems and flowing heart and spirit.

Jillian, what a wondrous retreat this has been. Again and again I say thank you for this sacred container you held for all of us! It has been a treat, and truly you are a treat! And I so appreciate every single one of you who shared your poetry and creativity. I not only learned more about poetry, it was also an intimate peak into all of your lives. Thank you for expressing your vulnerability here. That made it all possible.

Thanks Jillian Joy

for your excellent retreat.

You have sent me skipping to rarely visited places in my own head, always saying good stuff.

Thanks.

(not sure what to do with all these words floating around in my head)

I expect the poem will come to me at some point! I wanted to say thank you Jillian for creating, sharing and holding this space so beautifully. This extension of the Poem a Day in May was so valuable to me, poetically and personally, and I value dearly each poem written, each comment shared and each person who has passed through. Jillian, your leadership is exceptional, and your heart and spirit are dear, precious lights in my own life. And I have a gigantic thank you to everyone here, who has stretched, amazed, moved, inspired, enlightened and held me with such grace, generosity and beauty. What a remarkable group of people.
